Feelers & Cathedral Choir Fundraising Concert
Internationally renowned Christchurch band, The Feelers, United with the Christchurch Cathedral Choir for a Fundraiser Concert.
When Christchurch born band, the feelers, took the stage at Christ's College on November 5th 2011 they performed with an unusual partner - the ChristChurch Cathedral Choir. These two icons of New Zealand music performed together in a fund raising concert.
The performance featured songs by the feelers, the Cathedral Choir and also songs the two performing together.
James Reid, lead singer of the feelers, says, "It is great to be able to continue our support of Christchurch with this concert. For me, the Cathedral has always been the heart of our city and it seems fitting that through music we can help to rebuild it. I have many fond memories of singing in the Cathedral, so I am very excited to be performing with the Cathedral Choir. It's a great opportunity to rework some of our songs to give them more of a classical twist. I think the blend of the two styles of music will make for an amazing experience."
"I am really looking forward to working with the feelers," says Brian Law, the Cathedral's Director of Music. "This is a first for the Choir and will be a radical departure from our usual style. This is music history in the making".
Concert goers were given the choice of purchasing VIP tickets which include an exclusive opportunity to mingle with members of the feelers and the Cathedral Choir after the concert.
The concert was a resounding success with both musical styles blending into am amazing harmony that had the audience enthralled throughout.
