The tour so far from San Francisco to Bath

Wells Cathedral

Monday 14 July and Tuesday 15 July 2008:

We flew from San Francisco (a most wonderful place) into Los Angeles (Hollywood) a 1 and a half hour flight, which was one of the smoothest flights yet.   Then we had to travel from the Domestic…… to the International airport and wait until we could check into the Airport and go through customs.  They are so fussy they even make you take off your shoes so they can check that you aren’t smuggling things into the country or something.  After we put our shoes back on Mr Law, Chris and most of the Mums told us all to write up our diaries, that didn’t take long if you had all ready started to write it up that is.   Now it’s off to England which will take 9 HOURS just to get there.  I bet just about everyone went to sleep this time but one or two played games. When we got off the plane in London we had to go through customs again (sigh).   Then we were on the road - much better than on the plane.  When we got to our Hostel it was the loveliest little cottage you have ever seen.  We spent the rest of the day playing games outside from 5pm onwards.

Wednesday 16 July 2008:

We went to the market just outside Wells Cathedral to buy some gifts, souvenirs or presents, whatever you like to call them.  After we bought some things from the market we wandered around Wells, saw very interesting things, old buildings, old shops and lots lots more.  At about 12:00 we went back to the Cathedral and had our lunch outside on the green, everyone played tag and then BULLRUSH!!!  After we had finished we went inside to have a look around, took some photos and then we went out into the vestry to practice for the service.  After the service had ended we drove back to Cheddar for dinner and, more importantly, sleep.

Thursday 17 July 2008

We checked out of Cheddar and travelled down to Christchurch !!   That’s right everyone, we’re coming home…well not just yet anyway.  But we did go to Christchurch England, the sister city of Christchurch NZ,  to sing a concert but to get there it was a hazardous 3 hour drive.  After the concert we walked down to the docks to eat lunch.  We saw dozens of swans and little cygnets all around the docks.  Afterwards we played soccer for 30 minutes and then we hit the road again.  It was another 2hour drive up to Bath - the home of the Roman Baths.   When we got to the Hostel we played until dinner and then it was straight to bed.
