Letter from the Dean of ChristChurch Caathedral

I am privileged to have the best job in the Anglican Church in this country as Dean of this wonderful Cathedral. Among the many fantastic attributes of this great church is the Cathedral Choir.

Building on the finest of choral traditions of our English forbears, our male voice choir of men's and boys' voices is reaching new heights of excellence under the guidance of Brian Law. I am absolutely delighted at the standard being achieved and am keen for us to showcase our Kiwi talent in England.

Not only will such a tour be further impetus for the choir to get even better, the singers will be ambassadors for Christchurch and New Zealand, offering this unique sampler of choral talent in St Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, at Christ Church Oxford and in the Cathedrals of Hereford, Chichester and Wells, among others. The boys and men will also sing in the priory church at Christchurch in Dorset, a town with is twinned with our own city.

We will be doing our best to make sure our Cathedral Choir makes a fantastic impression in England and, in association with the tour sponsors, will do our bit to promote Christchurch and Canterbury.

We need the help of generous sponsors to achieve the very best we can. I do hope you will take this opportunity to get on board with this rare opportunity - the first European tour in the 126 year history of the ChristChurch Cathedral Choir.
